And while it can be fun, it may make us pause, too, and think about the magnitude and potential drawbacks of such data collection. But rarely do they present such a glossy dossier of our activity, assembled much like a holiday gift. We know, for the most part, that our apps and devices are constantly logging what we do, and using that data to make decisions. Spotify Wrapped is, of course, a marketing campaign, and it’s an impressively effective one. CNN's Rachel Metz listened to a lot of Dua Lipa and Harry Belafonte in 2021. Spotify Unwrapped is the music streaming service's annual collection of a user's listening habits. ![]() Oh, and my “audio aura” for the year was heavily green, as my top musical moods, according to Spotify, were “friendly” and “spooky.” In all, I listened to 48 different genres of music on Spotify for 6,664 minutes this year an amount of time that is more than 51% of other listeners in the United States, Spotify helpfully noted. A brightly colored highlight reel played, showing me what I (mostly) suspected: My top songs included “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa, “Banana Boat (Day-O)” by Harry Belafonte (a favorite of my kindergartener) and “Ship to Wreck” by Florence and the Machine (Florence and the Machine was also the top artist I listened to - Spotify Wrapped informed me I spent 699 minutes listening to the band). I cringed while tapping the message to learn more. Like many other Spotify users, I opened the music streaming app on Wednesday and received a cheerful message: “Your 2021 Wrapped is here,” it read, imploring me to explore the top songs, artists, and podcasts I listened to “in a year that was far from normal.” ![]()

Turns out that spending five hours training yourself to only-and-forever-always avoid hitting buttons on anything other than quarter-note beats, on the assumption that the game saying "enemy attacks always land on the beat" is a bad idea. It was frustrating enough that I very nearly gave up playing it, particularly because the 'hard' part of that fight always comes at the very end, after everything else. I've been playing on Hard, with little to no experience with rhythm games. The game's combat is fun, it's fun to be challenged by it on a higher difficulty setting, but the way some fights are so obnoxious to die on makes me feel like they just designed the game assuming the player would rarely die and didn't actually consider that some people might want a challenge or something. Not long ones, just a few seconds, but it's still really obnoxious and still just inexcusable garbage design, in my opinion, and it makes the game worse. ![]() ![]() I think this may now be one of the best shade matches in my entire foundation collection. However, I found a super helpful sales clerk who matched me to my perfect shade in one go. I have a cool to neutral undertone and many of the foundations in this range skew quite yellow as well so I struggled figuring it out by myself. With so many shades and many ‘half’ shades it can be difficult to find your shade online. I would recommend going into a store to get matched though. As you can see here, the shade match is pretty much spot on. Whenever I review a foundation, I like to includ ea closeup of how this blends down my neck. In short, this foundation ticks many of my boxes as I love a foundation that looks great all day even on long teaching days. It hardly transfers onto clothing or scarves and it looks almost the same at the end of the day as it does when it first goes on at 6 AM in the morning. It’s not as glowy as I prefer though: I would describe this as a satin sheen but I love how you can just go in with one pump and it covers your skin just enough but without it looking overly heavy or cakey. It is like a real perfecting layer that makes my skin look airbrushed but still natural. To say this foundation was love at first swatch would be an understatement. ![]() So to me, this sounded great and I like trying foundations so let’s see how it went. It is suitable for sensitive skin as well as it is free of many additives you can usually find in foundations. This promises to be the opposite: a natural finish, glowy, buildable coverage and great for all skin types. Those are usually medium to full coverage and matte. I have heard so many people raving about this but many hyped up foundations are hardly good for my skin type and makeup preferences. So let’s delve into the hype! Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk is a cult favorite foundation and I was curious what the hype was all about. And that’s exactly what this foundation promises to do. However, many of my favorite foundations are generally quite expensive as I feel they combine the best of both worlds: easy, lightweight textures with good wear time that look natural on the skin. This is a pricey foundation at €57.95 at full price for a 30 ml bottle. So that is great: this goes super light and super dark and everything in between. Online I can find 40 shades but I am not even sure that is everything. Let’s start with that shade range, because I found it mindboggling to see how many shades there were. Review: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless foundation Shade 3 So I decided to buy this to give is a whirl and see how it would do on my dry/ dehydrated skin with a cool/ neutral undertone. For the Luminous Silk range we luckily get a tonne of shades and lo and behold: my shade match was pretty much spot on too. I bought this initially when I found out that the Neo Nude didn’t come in my shade here (I ended up purchasing it online from an international retailer in the end). This is a cult favorite foundation and has been for years. It has great lasting power.Did we need another Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk review on the Internet? Maybe not, but I thought I could add my two cents since this was one of the 10 foundations I bought to try this year. This foundation as even tested through a hard workout. As previously stated, I have extensively tested this foundation in many environments to test out different benefits of the foundation. I have been using this foundation for over a year as a constant foundation rotation. How long does Armani Luminous Silk Lasts? The Armani foundation hasn't oxidized in any of these situations. I have work hard as well as relaxed wearing the Luminous silk. I have work this foundation in hot weather, cold weather and anything in between. I have been wearing and testing the Giorgio Armani Luminous silk in different situations. The foundation offers a natural dewy finish that doesn't appear oily or shiny on my skin.
